Most of my 'hobby time' over the last few days has been spent preparing for the 2012 Conference of Wargamers. This has involved packing an eclectic mix of items including a number of silly hats and the now notorious inflatable Vulcan. Last seen a couple of years ago (link) this is now making a comeback in PVO Strany - a game about defending the Soviet Union from nuclear bombers. The game will also feature my MIG 21s ,radios, silly hats and a fully functional 1960s radar set. Honestly.

Just printed out my handouts and spotted typos and a layout problem. Grrrrr.
Also worked out a better way of doing something. Still, suppose it as a Wargames DEVELOPMENTS confernece after all.

I also noticed a typo - on one of my signing-in sheets. Grrr. You are right in what you say though - we're WD - more spit than polish!

Love the inflatable Vulcan. Looking back on the pics from 2010, my first thought was that the beakers were full of ale and that it was a drinking game.

Stop giving me ideas...
Silly hats are a proud military tradition. No wargame is complete without at least five.

Oh no! I've only packed four!
The joy of silly hats is that you can make them from pretty much anything! Grab a newspaper on the way in or something.

I've managed to wear different silly hats in each of the two games I've been involved with so far this weekend....
