Although this kit seems a tad expensive at about £10, it contains, as well as the four figures, two chairs, two tables and a load of comms equipment and packing cases.
I’m not convinced mine will look this good!
The chaps all assembled. I decided to have the two seated officers based with their table and a stack of packing cases, with the other two on individual bases. Painting will follow when the PVA dries.

Very useful, I don't remember ever seeing this set but then my memory isn't what it used to be!

Apparently this set was only released in 2014. No doubt like me, you view anything that wasn’t in the 1977 catalogue as ‘new’.....
Looks like something is brewing in the Far East!
PS: I am slightly envious of the Tamiya kit you are with, renown for their precision engineering - I have been struggling with Victrix 28mm French Napoleonic Infantry over Easter. There is the way of maddening madness!

Any doubts you might have about the quality of Tamiya figure kits - even the really old ones - can be easily dispelled by trying other manufacturers!
Nice figures Tim, I'd really like a set like this to be available in 20mm (instead of the myopic sword wavers that pass for Japanese officers in other rnges) for a scenario I have in mind.
Cheers,
Pete.

“Myopic sword wavers”. I had to laugh at that description! I know what you mean though - it’s good to have senior officers who look like they’re in charge.
Will you be using them in Little Cold Wars?

They’re a tad early for LCW. Their first outing will probably be in a planned game based on Nomonhan in 1939...
