Toy soldiers, wargames and modelling madness.
Ah, the Whitby Gazette! How I miss it!My wife's favorite headline was "Whitby Man Escapes Jail!" when they meant "Whitby Man Not Sent to Jail"!
TimSeriously? Armed police called to deal with a cow?Regards
Gods no, not another mad cowoutbreak.....LOL, Arthur that's a ton of rampaging beef a whistle wontdo...... Tim....Fred lives..lol
Edwin KingHigh quality journalism!
ArthurThat's nothing, you should see what you get for parking offences!
Don MI expect Captain D'eath is gutted that he missed out.
Well lets be honest. What else is there to do on a Saturday night in Whitby ???
Loads this weekend it is one of their regular Goth festivals.Cheers,Pete.
All of our cops are armed, and I've never heard of them shooting a cow. People, sure. But a cow?
Is it me, or are police forces getting a bit trigger happy these days? Seems too that they want more and more powers, more and more tech, yet I'm not seeing any improvement in actual police work. They don't seem to be all that fussed about answering your calls, neither. Not if you're an ordinary Joe, at any rate. In this country, the Police are more likely to act at the behest of Warner Bros than Jack Kiwi. Seriously.
I like the fact that the other moo got away and that the RAF were that worried they scrambled a Sea King.Well spotted.
TimTo (mis)quote Jane Austen, I am diverted, excessively. But you have a story here for a war game - The Great Whitby Cow Hunt - and perhaps it would be presented at your next COW event. But what on earth have the UK Police been reduced to?In South Africa they shoot you if you don't like the toilet the government gives you; in Kenya they shoot you if you are Somali; in the USA they shoot you if you jaywalk. But they never shoot livestock. The SPCA would be all over them like a rash if they did.Regards
Stephen ThomasThat accounts for the crowds of drunken cattle....
PeteMy dog has black lips - she'll fit in just fine.
Stu Rat'When Cows Attack.' It'll probably be on Channel Five next week....
Archduke PiccoloFor all I know the cow may have had a lengthy criminal record. Possibly as the leader of a gang. Police are still on the trail of the gang members, but nothing has been herd of the udders.....
ArthurI thought you'd enjoy this. I think it's an isolated incident - don't get the impression that the UK is awash with armed Police gunning down random cattle..
Paul FosterAt least they stopped short of scrambling a flight of Tornadoes.....
I should have gone with this on my first comment.
Slightly less grandiose than this though:http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2050778/Ohio-animals-killed-Lions-tigers-shot-dead-escaping-US-zoo.html
Seems udderly ridiculous but aren't you guys milking this a bit?
