Overloon Museum - D-Day

My trip to the Netherlands in September 2017 took in the rather splendid War Museum at Overloon. If you go there put aside plenty of time as there is much to see. I took so many photos that I have split them into several themed posts.  We'll start with the D-Day exhibit.  I hope you enjoy them.
Above - Spitfire MkXVIII
We managed to sneak past this chap without being fired on.
Raketenwerfer 43 'Puppchen' - a reuseable 88mm AT rocket launcher.
PAK 97/38 - the carriage of a PAK38 with the barrel of a French '75
The beaches were cleaner then this when I last visited Normandy
88mm  - looking for the Spitfire perhaps?
Bazooka operator taking cover behind a beach obstacle
M29 Weasel.  Interesting fact - someone once tried to sell me one of these...
DUKW - just like Airfix's finest!
fortified AT gun
That Spittie again - very nice too
US halftrack on the beach
Goliath remote-controlled demolition charge

MG position

Excellent pictures, thanks for sharing. If I'm ever that way myself, I'll make sure I call in.

Nice picks
Are you planning any Fletcher Pratt Naval Stuff over your way any time soon?

I have a couple of pocket battleships looking for some action ;)

I must visit one day... the Spitfire has an interesting history... at least part of it seemed to have served in the Indian airforce at one point!

Get me a venue and half a dozen players and I’ll come and run a game.
