Army Day in Forbodia

There haven't been many posts this week as I've been so busy.  So here to make up for it are some photos of the recent parade of the Forbodian Army.  Above can be seen the entire army.  Scary eh?
The cavalry brigade in the foreground consists of two regiments and an HQ.
The Infantry  - from left to right - The Palace Guard, Foresters, Jagers, Militia.
The Infantry Brigadier at the head of his troops.
The man himself - King Boris III of Forbodia, with his staff, bodyguards and motor cars.
 The cavalry Brigadier and chums.
The much-feared Mountain Artillery.

Hurrah! A fine turn out and I'm sure the citizens feel proud and reassured by the formidable show. :)

Very nice: very, very nice. 'Nuff said, really: a fine wee army. I see that purple is a colour very much favoured in this country. Was the Forbodian region, deep in its history, known for its defiance against some sort of Imperial authority? I can see how wearing the Imperial Purple might stick in the emperor's craw. Porphyrogenetus or otherwise, he must take offence. Hence one imagines that a people given to an insouciant defiance towards authoritarian rule might choose a sartorial mode that says to authority: 'C'm 'ere an' get wot's comin' to ye.'

A fine collection- the artillery is rather nice. Though I must confess I thought I'd be seeing more flags.

Cheers,

Pete.

A very creditable display - dastardly fellows the lot of them.

Could you drop me a line? I emailed you, but I'm not sure I have the right address?

I have some BMC ACW types that need a new home.

Very formidable army there, I'm sure your neighbors are suitably impressed and restrained...)

The good people of Forbodia are indeed comforted by this show of force - and by the fact that the Army has for the moment (c1913) stopped recruiting. Military growth continues in neighbouring states, however......

Forbodia has always been a difficult country to pinpoint on a map. It appears that Tarbooshia shares this characteristic. So barring serious navigational errors we're probably safe from each other!

Archduke Piccolo
The present King's grandfather, Boris I - known to history as Boris the Bonkers - claimed descent from the Emperors of Rome, hence the prominence of purple in the country's uniforms....

There are 8 flags present, not counting the pennants on the cars. How many were you hoping for? The King is most displeased by your apparent lack of respect......

Line already dropped. Dr Gow's Home for Distressed Toy Soldiery welcomes new inmates.....

Forbodia's neighbours may be impressed. Mine just think I'm nuts...

Hell Tim just imagine what my neighbors think? LOL

Wonderful - are we indeed seeing the Balkanisation of the Balkans?

Let us hope for an early Spring thaw this year...

Isn't that why you had to move out west?

And 'Balkans' to you too sir!

The archduke may possibly be interested to hear that the parade got a mention in the "Svenhasselstein Morgenpost". It's on page 27 just below "Situations Vacant" and just above "Small Items For Sale".

As a point of interest may I point out that in the sit-vac. section there is currently an ad for the post of clown at Svenhasselstein's world famous "Vunderlich Circus". The Archduke may be aware that in Svenhasselstein the traditional preposterous clown figure has long been represented by the character dressed in purple.

I just thought I'd mention it. :-)

Great line-up there Tim

A big flag with the battle honours of the Glorious Forbodian Army seems pretty fitting to me, better still one per unit.

Cheers,

Pete.
