The dangers of smoking...

A few weeks ago we treated Steve's 'Dad's Army' figures to another outing, again using Jim Wallman's 'Dialogue Game' framework.
The scenario this time was that a Luftwaffe bomber had crashed and the Platoon had been sent to search for the crew.  The platoon was split into 3 sections and wile Capt. Mainwairing oversaw the inspection of the aircraft, Jones searched the village and Sponge the local farms.
Steve's rather impressive 'crashed' 1/48th scale He111, with Mainwairing, Wilson and Pike in attendance.  The photos aren't great as I forgot my camera and had to resort to the Blackberry.
Walker tries to steal one of the geese - and has his cigarette stolen by the goose instead!
Sponge's section arrested an Italian POW working as a farm labourer.  He was clearly up to no good...
Mainwairing is surrounded by angry geese while Sgt. Wilson tries to find a way into the 'plane and Pike offers to 'fill it full of lead'.  Stupid boy.
A mystery ambulance arrives - under the control of a nasty Nazi!  But he is soon overpowered.
Two of the Luftwaffe's finest on the run - just before they surrendered.
The finale came just after the last Germans surrendered when the goose which had stolen Walker's (lit!) cigarette strayed a little too close to a pool of petrol under the Heinkel...

Nice layout - I've considered something similar in 20mm.

Thanks. It kept half a dozen of us entertained for a couple of hours and gave employment to Steve's lovely toys.

It was certainly very photogenic. And fun. Job done!

The crashed He 111 is a stunner - complete with bullet holes! It's a major terrain item in it's own right.

That would certainly be my preferred option, but since Steve has already put the work in with his 28mm toys it's nice to get some use out of them.

The He111 is a 1/48 scale kit which Steve built as a wreck - the detail - down to individual bullet holes - is amazing.

I suppose it was only a matter of time before someone came out with that sort of fowl language...

"Sergeant Wilson. Go and find out what Pike is doing ... and tell him to stop it!"

Top rate eye-candy.
