Xmas books

Not a bad haul this year.  The two fiction (below) I was after as I've read and enjoyed other books by this author.  The Cambrai book may relate to a battlefield visit and'or game while the rather scholarly tome will yield more information on a country I visited three times in 2017 and want to know more about.

How did you do by comparison?

I got myself a XMAS book with a voucher pressie.

Lobositz to Leuthen - Horace St Paul and the Campaigns of the Austrian Army in the Seven Years War 1756-57

About £20 on Amazon.

Reputedly a good book.

Have you read Geoffrey Parker's "Dutch Revolt"? Absolutely brilliant and reduced me to tears
at times.

On the book present side...er..."Paths of Glory" and the two latest Asterix books by the new writing team.

I'd be interested in your opinions on the Harvey Black novels as they sound interesting but I was a a bit lukewarm on his Red/blue/black effect series.

Cheers,

Pete.

Sounds an interesting read - let us know how you get on with it.

Not read it - it sounds very traumatic!

I rather enjoyed the earlier series. So far (c70 pages) so good with this one.

Thanks Tim I may give them a go on kindle then. I really liked the Red Effect one but it was the two sequels I was less keen on.

Cheers,

Pete.
