Operation Seeadler

Firstly a statement.  No experienced wargamer with any sense should ever get involved in a wargames campaign.
Now an entirely predictable confession.  I am involved in a wargames campaign.
My partner in crime in this ambitious undertaking is none other than David Crook - he of A Wargaming Odyssey .  I've got a mention of DC in quickly so I can blame him if it all goes horribly wrong!
The er, plan is that David will run the high-level stuff and liase by email with the two Sheffield-based admirals.
When a 'battle' occurs, David will send me the details and I'll run it as a Fletcher Pratt wargame at the Sheffield club, hopefully with the admirals commanding in person and other players recruited or press ganged as required.  I'll then post a mildly censored battle report and when it's all over DC will post an overview of the campaign.
Expect more news of this venture early in the new year.
It wouldn't be a proper blog post without some pictures of toys, so here are just a few of the ships which won't be taking part in Operation Seeadler....

Hi Tim,

We have gone and done it now haven't we?

It will be fine - trust me, I'm an out of work Compliance Officer....;-)

All the best and with the Nurofen on standby,

DC

This will be entertaining to follow. You're already disseminating disinformation!

We do seem to have stepped on to the slippery slope and be hurtling down it!

Don't tell DC, but I have cunningly arranged things so he does all the real work while I just shout at players from time to time....

Always good to know what won't be involved.

Seems to be a lot of this e-campaign stuff going around these days. I refuse to draw conclusions from this.

Don't worry - I'm sure it'll never catch on...

Tim, remember. A good captain goes down with his ship. Wish you the best of luck on the voyage ahead.
