No, I'm Spartacus!

Following the arrival last year of a number of sample figures from Rob at Garrison I have finally managed to paint some!  These Gladiators seemed a good starting point and for the Latin speakers among you include a pair of Retarii (the chaps with nets and toasting forks) and a Myrmillo (the geezer in the fancy helmet).  They are nice clean castings and even having suffered my limited painting skills, look pretty good.

Hi Tim,

You can't beat a good gladiator game for sheer homicidal mayhem.

Rather like Zulu you can rest assured that the quotes from Gladiator and Spartacus will be flying thick and fast!

All the best,

DC - No I'm DC

Nicely painted. They do look a little under-dressed for the high street however.

Well done Tim.

Your wife is Kirk Douglas? No wonder you spend so much time painting toys...

Caesar, We who are about to dice, salute you!

They look good, all based up for something other than 1:1 gladiator games? I always wanted some of these but never figured out what I'd do with them.

Yipes! I think you must live on the wrong end of the High Street Tim!

I was sent them as samples and I decided to stick 'em all on a single base so they may appear in a Rome vs revolting slaves type scenario.

I do know a few re-enactor types who'd probably be quite happy to walk around in this gear!
