Italian 149/40 gun

In a few spare minutes last week I assembled this 'Waterloo 1815' kit of a WW2 Italian 149mm heavy gun.  The parts are beautifully moulded in hard plastic and went together easily.  The nine crew figures are a delight and even if you don't want the gun it may be worth buying the set for these chaps alone.  The crew are dressed for service in Africa, so will fit in nicely with most of my existing Italian troops.  More pics when I get round to the painting.

that is very nice, can tell how clean the casting is, and the crew is excellent!

I hardly need to tell you that my games table is now covered with 20mm Italians!

That gun is huge! A very nice looking piece of hardware.

My Italians are being pushed back until I get my ring around some bathroom revamp...There goes my pocket money!

That looks like a (not so little)Gem doesn't it?

It is huge - I put it down to the Roman fondness for monumental architecture. I too have a bathroom to pay for this year, but the gun came out of last year's defence budget.

It is a table filler of the type you like. In other words, it'll be no damn use in a game...

'... even if you don't want the gun ...'

How could you not want a gun like that ...

I know Phil - but there are some odd people around who may not consider that a 149mm gun has a tabletop role. Very strange.

That's the thing about a lot of Italian kit - it does look good!

A great set mate, mine gun is finished just the crew left to do. It could have done with a few more shells though.

I think it's safe to assume that yours will be finished to a rather higher standard than mine! Hopefully I'll get on with it at the weekend.

Is this kit also out in Italeria?

Not as far as I know, thought Italeri do a lovely 90mm AA gun.....
