Diversity

If, as the saying goes, variety is the spice of life, then my modelling table has little to worry about. I took the photo when I realised that the toys I'd been working on during a 2-hour slot one evening spanned not only three scales but three millennia!
In descending order of scale there is: a 1/32 Ford 'T', some 25mm Macedonian pikemen and a 1/144 P-40. More on all of them soon.

Ahh, of course, I rather thought the pikemen were going to have a tough time reaching the gas pedal.

Well, you know what these Minifigs are like - as soon as he varnish dries I expect they'll be trying to rig up a hand throttle.

I've got 6mm Nap Prussians, 10mm Gauls, 6mm Russian armour, 28mm Afrika Korps, 10mm Romans, 10mm Parthians and 28mm science fiction models on the painting table at the moment. I should just pick one and finish it!

You've presented an alternate rationale for the move from the spear to the sarrissa - the increasing ceilings of the opposing air forces!

I'm hoping to have all three finished today!

Indeed - the P40 will need a much taller stand to escape those bendy pikes - and there are some Hypaspists with shorter spears in case of a low level attack.

I have on my painting table as we speak:

A Space Crusade Android so that is 'future fantasy'.

A Talisman Thief which is 'past fantasy'.

A WWII American GI squad which is 'modern (sort of) historical'.

A unit of Teutonic Knights which is 'medieval historical'.

And

An army of Republican Romans which is 'ancient historical'.

Its not just you Tim!!

Busy...Yet very tidy. This must be a posed shot. The plane looks aces.

Stay calm Jim - the nice men in white coats are on the way...

The modelling table may be tidy - the rest of the room rather less so...
