Discount Deetail delight

I attended the Plastic Warrior show in Twickenham on Saturday - and well done again to the organisers for all their hard work.  Having been last year as a punter, this year I was sharing a trade stand with Bertrand and show organiser Brian Carrick.  The three of us were just selling off some of our own surplus bits and pieces.  In the event I did quite well and emerged having sold some stuff and bought rather less.
One of my star purchases of the day was a bag of Britains Deetail ACW figures, all of which had been repainted.  Also included were seven rather nice flags.  That some repair work was required could be easily forgiven as the 51 figures set me back a mere £10.

Tim,

That is an excellent purchase, and will really add some nice ACW figures to your collection.

All the best,

Bob

I do seem to be accumulating fair numbers of ACW figures. Must arrange a game!

I went along on Saturday too, for the 1st time in my case. It struck me as a strange kind of show...but as a wargames I really have no room to talk :) Picked up some nice Armies in Plastic figures there.

I wish i'd known...I would have introduced myself! I had my back to you two tables over! Brian gave me a lovely bag of goodies and I bought those ivorene steeplechasers from his/your table!

Apropos nothing - as far as cheap figures for lawn-wars are concerned - but CTS have a lot of really nice boxed Deetail in at the momment!

It is an odd show from the perspective of one more used to wargames shows. But as you suggest, they're pretty odd too...

That's what I like, a well Deetailed report.

Mind you, you wouldn't believe the mess I got myself into back in 97 by buying some Deetail ACW cavalry to fill a void in my first 54mm wsrgame, the first factory painted toy soldiers to appear on my wargame table.

It's a slippery slope...

I 'accidentally' acquired a load of the cavalry last year. It just happened.
