Books from Triples

My Triples purchases continue with a number of books on the 1940 French campaign.  Firstly there are all three volumes of the French edition of Sixty Days That Shook The West by Jacques Benoist-Mechin.
Do I read French well? No, or rather 'non' but these books contain rather splendid maps.
The other volumes are all books I have been vaguely planning to pick up at some point - especially the memoir by General Spears.

I take it in the French books they sued the Germans for peace in 1940 and actually won the battle of France?

Great - now you've given away the ending...

No that's a funny co-incidence (in a way). The closest I came to shelling out coin at Triples was for some of 'Early War' models (Early War Miniatures)...

They had a splendid and really comprehensive French line-up, but I was rather taken with the Dutch and the Belgian figures and vehicles (20mm).

They also had a wonderful book full of reference photos of the c.1940 Dutch Army.

...As to the French defeat, I always thought that the British attitude was a bit unfair and was surprised when I read about how heavy the German losses were during that campaign. But I am not an expert! :)

Great minds...
I have a few bits I picked up from EWM last year. Not only have they not been started (no surprise) but I've not even stuck them in a box. They remain on the shelf where they were dumped - just slightly dustier...
