Little Wars Centenary

In celebration of the centenary of the publication of Little Wars by H.G.Wells, Mike at Black Hat Miniatures has announced this special 54mm figure of HGW playing with some toy soldiers (and wondering if it will ever catch on as a hobby for grown men?)
Mike writes "The figure is a 4-part metal casting and comes with tiny toy soldiers and a house.  This is a quick picture of the first master casting, but it should be in a production mould this week and up on the Black Hat shop for £5.00 a piece."

What a delightful idea - mine is already on order!

It is a splendid model, but what a pity the iconic Britain's 4.7 inch gun is not there! After all, the game depended upon toy gunfire.

No pleasing some people! I think this sculpt represents an early version of the game when HGW is still looking on eBay for his first 4.7....

This will look good on the shelves in my war room - and may finally persuade Mrs h. that what I do is not unusual... well maybe not. She doesnt understand the "bits box", or the semi painted unfinished projects that mustnt be touched by the duster. Its hard being a wargamers wife I imagine!

If you have tolerance don't hold out for understanding!

yes - fair point. I actually have a war room - which is progress I guess. At the weekend at the boot sale in Settle I spotted and bought " the battle of britain experience" book and facsimile documents, mas, log books etc, Retail price was £30, I got it for a fiver. Mrs H sort of shrugged in despair really. Tolerance is a positive I'm guessing...
