Soviet Air Assault Brigade - part 2

Work continues on the AAB.  The toys have had some (but not very much!) detail painted.  In the case of the infantry, this consists of weapons, boots, packs, hands and faces.  The beret-wearing Paras have had their headgear painted pale blue, and I sometimes dab on a bit of paint (red in this case) for shoulder and cap badges.  When done, they are treated to a wash of white spirit with some dark brown oil pigment mixed in.
The paras during painting.  I lightly glue them to strips of balsa to made them easier to handle during this process.
The vehicles get much the same treatment, with any camo pattern being added, along with tyre, tracks, lights etc.  Windows I tend to paint black.  With this part of the process, and camo painting in particular, I try not to worry about being too neat (as those of you who've seen my toys up close will confirm), as ther is still an oil wash and drybrushing (weathering) to come - this goes a long way to concealing my lack of talent and patience!
The vehicles of the AAB, and a couple of BTR-50s destined for a 'special' unit.
Next step - drybrushing - but first we need to wait for the oil wash to dry.  And open a window lest I the fumes overcome me.

Think of them as 20mm toys, but at the far end of the table.

The Imperil Brazos Government is both shocked and appalled that
the continued unprovoked aggression by the FPPR has once again ensnared uninformed overseas operatives to provide yet more
mercenaries to facilitate further bloodshed.

The BEE will do all in it's considerable power to defend both our own territory and that of our allies, as well as our and their interests wherever those may be....
