Tankette MkII

Following on from my post on the MkI tankette, behold the much (well, slightly) improved MkII version
As well as providing rather more spacious accommodation for the crew, some of it under rakishly-sloped balsa armour, the MkII carries two machine guns.

Construction underway at the Peoples' Tankette Factory No.1.

The balsa was given a coat of a random paint to seal it.

  Scary, eh?

Scary but superb, how many will the People's Factory be producing?

Two each of the Mk1 and Mk2 have been built. Production complete. For the moment at least....

Balsa wood might give as good protection as the original armour! They look great, BTW!

The crew’s best hope is the two coats of paint and one of varnish.

I sense a rampant arms race in progress
Yet I know the horse is still the future!

Just the usual arms race! And you could be on to something with the carrigeless horse...

They look great! Have they been tested against spring powered artillery shells?

Thanks. One fell victim to a barrage of matchsticks in the SCW game I reported on in September.

The satchel on the starboard side of the hull contains the crew's lunch. That's a close as we get to'sandwich' armour...

Rumour has it that the design team were issued with pogo sticks and sent into a dense minefield...
