I took these rather rushed photos of my LCW Israeli armoured bde as I was assembling it for last summer’s Gnuston Heights game. As always, please let me know if you’d like more details or better photos of anything.
Centurion tanks - mostly Dinky diecasts. M-48s to the left.
The whole ghastly mess. But then it was assembled pretty much from scratch in two months. From left: SP Artillery btl, SRL btl, Reserve Tank btl (M-48 & M-51), two tank btls (Centurions), Engineers, Mech btl, AA, HQ, recce.
I have a real soft spot for tatty halftracks in Israeli colours. These are Solido diecasts.
M-51 Ishermans under construction (and bodging). These started off as Hobbyboss 1/48 M4A3E8 kits.
And with that, I will sign off for 2018! Plenty more of this nonsense still to come in 2019.

Impressive collection Tim.
Happy New Year too.
Cheers,
Pete.
Very nice Tim.
Reminds me I should get on and finish my 1/87th 1967 Israelis (and their Arab opponents) for Megablitz.
The problem with the IDF is that while they use equipment that's generally easily available, they cannot seem to resist the temptation to modify it!
Just as well I like converting....

Tim,
That is a very impressive collection of IDF kit! I can't imagine how much effort it took to put it together so quickly ... but it looks as if it was worth it.
All the best,
Bob
Gotta love the IDF attitude take someone else's crap and make it a little better. Very nice force there Tim, looking forward to seeing them in a game.
Pete
Impressive? You clearly have low standards!

Paint is always a good conversion tool.

Hours of ceaseless toil. Mostly on eBay....

Just like me then? Take a load of crap and make it er, different crap.
An impressive formation! Reminds me that I must do something with my own Army Men project (loooonnnggg neglected) and the Harad project (at least I've done some work on that in the last year or so...). I have it in mind that a Tchagai Separatist movement (called the Tchagai Separatist Movement - TSM) is thinking of separating from the parent country of Islamistan - itself a breakaway from the jewel in the crown of Britannican Imperium, Rajistan. Methought Bob Cordery's 'Vive la Revolution!' mini-campaign might be a place to begin...
Looks like you've cornered the market in Dinky Centurians, all the ones I find seem to have broken gun barrels.
Many of my Centurions have had their original (broken) barrels replaced with a piece of dowel with a short length of straw positioned halfway down - so it looks more like the 105mm than the 20-pdr the Dinky model came with. The broken tanks are of course rather cheaper on Ebay too...

Get on with it! Though I’m behind with several projects myself.....

That’s not a problem Brian - see Ian’s comment.

Mine mostly had full barrels though they often needed straightening. I added bits of plastic tube halfway along the barrels and a few had to have lengths of bamboo skewers grafted on.
