I'll start the week with some more eye candy from the Wg Cdr. This is another GHQ 1/285 scale models he recently built and painted as part of a commission.
I wonder if I should worry that I still think of the Tornado as rather new-fangled?
Stick two engines and wings on a brick. Put a pilot in the nose as ballast then leave it to the navigator to tell the electronics where to go. The real thing had two halves of milled titanium alloy for the tail - it looked just like an Airfix kit :O)
Ooooooo, very pretty. I'm like you Tim, I think of the Tornado as a 'new' thing. I suppose what gives away my age is I remember it being called the MRCA. It replaced the Phantoms at my local RAF base.
I had an uncle who regarded his Tiger Moth as the pinnacle of aviation perfection, and anything else was new-fangled. There is a more subtle connection, though, as he flew through a tornado in the Moth. Neither he nor the Moth were ever the same again.

New fangled, yeah, remember when they called it the MRCA, I had the Airfix model.
Cool plane and belated congratulations to Forbodia upon their awesome parade and display of power...

Stunning- I've a pretty good idea where it will end up too so I'll get to see it in the flesh.
Cheers,
Pete.

Hi Tim
I had an uncle who regarded his Tiger Moth as the pinnacle of aviation perfection, and anything else was new-fangled. There is a more subtle connection, though, as he flew through a tornado in the Moth. Neither he nor the Moth were ever the same again.
I'm just saying...
Regards
Pete: it's already in his possession.
Saw it tonight actually- bloody good work on it :)
Cheers,
Pete.
