Where have all the flowers gone?

I can't answer Mr Seegar's question, but I can account for four of them.  Flower Class corvettes that is.
These are MY 1/1200 metal castings which, after a quick cleanup were treated to masts made (rather appropriately) from florists wire.  The usual drybrush over black paintwork was finished off with a squirt of spray varnish.
These are nice little models - and very reasonable at £2.00 each.  The cutting mat 'sea' is calibrated in inches.
Three Flowers escorting a tanker (another MY model).

Nicholas Monsarrat could not have done better Tim.

Impressive fleet all around.

A Compass Rose by any other name?

I rather like seeing the small stuff for escort duties and inshore work. Plenty of interesting wargames possibilities around coastlines, shoal waters, estuaries, fjords and the like.

Even the small convoy shown: three flowers and a tanker makes for a fine scenario - a target for air attack, surface attack by MTBs or a big commerce raider... Lotsa fun!

Cheers,
Ion

Possibly - but he'd have come up with a better caption.

I'm sure there'll be plenty of work for these little chaps!

My father spent his entire war paddling backwards and forwards across the Atlantic in one of these, apart from helping out off Juno Beach. I have his diary of ports, along with comments.

Sounds like you have the material for a few good blog posts there!

Any favourite Anti-Sub rules to run the convoy battles against Tim?

Have you tried Mal Wright's "Convoy Deadly Waters"?

They'll be used in Fletcher Pratt games - where a stray U-boat has already had some success....
