3 Division Légère Mécanisée - part 1 - Overview

This is another of my (many) French divisions organised for Megablitz games and is posted here at the special request of Al.  The DLM was as close as the French got to a Panzer Division, as it contained not only tanks but also motorised infantry, armoured cavalry and artillery.  Further posts will look more closely at the toys I used to build this division.

Very nice toys again Tim. I assume that the odd looking behemoth in the centre is the armoured bridge layer?

Cheers

It is indeed the silly Somua!

How perverse to have Cuirassiers riding recce. One would expect Hussars in armoured cars.

In fairness they are armoured. Slightly.

Are the Bridgelayer and the twin AA the ones that Ian Lowell originally scratchbuilt, Tim?

Well spotted Chris. You will recall that I acquired IRL's 20mm French about 10 years ago.

Be careful what you wish for!

It's surprising how well they all fit together - given the mix of build and paint styles.

Great stuff. I like the inclusion of the tanker. I too have a Hot Wheels command stand

Without dodgy diecasts most of my French would be walking!
