In the spirit of Soviet Socialist self-criticism, I finally got round to comparing my new SB-2s with my earlier sctatch-bodged effort and was pleased to see that the latter actually stands up pretty well.
My earlier effort is on the left - wings all wrong and generally too chunky but green paint and big red stars can disguise much! |
There are pics of my other Russian aircraft on an earlier post at http://megablitzandmore.blogspot.com/2010/11/red-sky-at-night.html

Well done comrade! The proletariat commends you for your earlier effort.
Thanks Comrade - forward to the West!
I must say seeing the side by side...well done Tim!

It's not bad is it? Still, the newer models are a lot nicer.
well looking through the gun sights
of a BF 109G they'll both end up looking pretty much the same....)

Quite - when the wings are ablaze nobody cares what shape they are!
Very nice pair of planes comrade

Thanks - all the better to bomb the Hitlerite hordes back to the viper's lair.
Nice, very nice
I think it is a decent effort myself. What were the donor kits?

Thanks guys. My original SB-2 started off life as a Nakajima Ki-49 'Helen'. My usual modelling techniques were employed - a couple of photos, one sharp knife, one blunt knife, one tube of filler, lots of swearing.
