Wargaming on the BBC (again!)

I am pleased to report that wargaming was again mentioned on the BBC this morning.  In this case it was BBC Radio Sheffield where presenter Toby Foster interviewed Sheffield Wargames Society stalwart Mark Hides.  The link to the show is here - scroll forward to 02:17:10 to hear Mark.
During the piece - which lasted for about six minutes - Mark was able to successfully plug Sheffield Wargames Society.

I should add that Radio Sheffield originally rang me at 0845 and arranged to call me back between 0900-1000.  I immediately rang Mark - while I am the Society Chairman he is the Publicity Officer - and told him what was happening.  It was as well I did so because they then rang him for the interview!

Gardes-Mobiles

A recent re-reading of Mr Horne's book on the siege(s) of Paris prompted a slightly different paint job for some of my BMC ACW figures.  The addition of red cuffs and trouser stripes to their overall blue uniforms transformed them (in poor light) into French Gardes-Mobiles for 1870/71.  More pics when they're finished.

More Yankees

I have finished another batch of cheap but not particularly nasty ACW figures by BMC.  This lot can face off against the Rebs I metioned a while back.

More from the Wg Cdr - part 3 - Tornado

I'll start the week with some more eye candy from the Wg Cdr.  This is another GHQ 1/285 scale models he  recently built and painted as part of a commission.
I wonder if I should worry that I still think of the Tornado as rather new-fangled?
