I am recently returned from the joys of the Sheffield Triples wargames show.
It is called Triples due to the three round wargames competition which used to form the show's focal point, but I now justify the name on account of the three 'hats' I wear during the show:
1. Member of Sheffield Wargames Society which runs the event. In this capacity I was interviewed by BBC Radio Sheffield on Saturday morning. The broadcast can still be heard on iPlayer here - the piece on Triples is 40 minutes in.
2. Member of Wargame Developments running a game.
3. Frenetic consumer
I am pleased to report that all three strands progressed well! Further posts will delve into additional detail but here are a few photos to be going on with.

The plotz thickens
Regular readers may recall my multi-post report on the hitherto little known Teutonian invasion of Tinland. My sources inform me that the campaign will continue over the coming weekend at Triples. The photo which I reproduce by kind permission of Obst-Gen. Von Hotzenplotz himself shows the said gentleman(?) inspecting his pointy-helmeted hordes.
Volunteer gunners are sought at Triples for firing matchsticks at the enemy...

The power of the press
Just a quick post tonight.
As a result of the newspaper article (see Monday's post) we had a prospective new member show up at the Sheffield club tonight. After some introductory chit-chat from a couple of members he was prevailed upon to take part in a game and subsequently sat in on another. So if you're reading this Peter, welcome and we hope to see you at the weekend!

Worse by Bus
Work on the B-Type bus continued slowly at the weekend, and I now have a pretty good idea of what the 'B' stands for...
Anyway, on with the show. In an effort to strengthen the rather delicate running gear I employed the ever-popular 'hacking up bits of balsa and pouring lots of PVA over them' approach. Incidentally, the blue-clad lads in the background are the third regiment of Tratvian Cossacks - more on them soon.
The fiddly, warped and generally nasty stairwell required drastic measures...
