The German opening positions. They have two infantry companies, one deployed and the other in it's transport, a support company, AA battery and two tank platoons.
The Sovs. A 4-company rifle battalion, with platoons of MG, ATR, mortar and infantry guns. And to lead the assault, a company and a half of T34 and a recce platoon in BA-64.Another view of the Germans.
Soon the Germans were joined by a Panther plt. On the left of the frame the MG platoon has suffered from Sov artillery fire. The German HQ atop the church tower.
More Panther porn.
The Sovs led with the armour - which suffered under a hail of fire from panzers and the AT detachment.
The surviving T34 soon claimed revenge on the Panzer IV.By now the Soviet infantry advance was gaining pace
The Sovs were soon under German MG fire
Bonus Panther porn. The action continues this evening. Place your bets now on the final score!

Very exciting game Tim! The Panthers are beautiful and I especially like your tank explosion markers, they look great! I am betting on the Germans with their gorgeous Panthers!
I slightly misjudged the movement distance for the T34s there didn't I! Anyway, once all the tanks are dead, people can focus on the the main event - the infantry action.
I enjoyed reading about the game , seeing the pictures and do very much like the look of the thing.

There is only one Panther in the game! But it has clearly been photographed heavily for propaganda purposes. It's the Corgi 1/50 scale model and is indeed a thing of beauty.

I knew there was sound reasoning behind your apparently rash advance!

Thanks Alan. Join us for a Zoom game sometime.
This looks all kinds of amazing. And if these are the rules you were working on after Little Cold Wars, then I have been eagerly awaiting their completion!

Hi John. They're a long way from complete but are at least workable. Oh, and please check your messages on Little Wars Revisited.
Tim -
I'm interested. I once - about 40 years ago - tried to put together a WW2 rule set based upon what I could remember of the Squad Leader board game. The only action that developed was a Soviet infantry company attack upon a farm complex defended by a German platoon. The Soviets carried the objective but at 50% casualties as I recall.
What you are developing looks to be in roughly the same scale I had in mind. I have occasionally bethought myself to that failed project of mine, so I'm often on the lookout for anything vaguely similar.
Cheers,
Ion
