Going for a Schwimm - part 2

Here is the completed model.  I opted for a plain sand finish.  The driver is from a Tamiya Kubelwagen kit - he looks decidedly apprehensive about taking to the water!

It looks great.
I had a Tamiya one as a boy . I found it a fascinating vehicle which really caught my imagination.

That has turned out really nicely. I think the only Schwimmwagen I've got is an old 1/76th scale one.

Great looking model and paint job Tim! I hope that he's got his water wings on board!!

The 1/32 21st Century (or similar, I get all of those brands confused) version turns up fairly often and at reasonable prices. I often contemplate purchasing one, but I haven't been able to come up with a legitimate reason to use them (lack of imagination on my part, clearly).

It's certainly 'different', and as a bonus it's quite a robust model.

I previously owned the Tamiya 1/35 kit but my oldest is a 1/76 Nitto(?) model from the 1970s. And of course I have a few in 1/300!

I'm not sure it's encouraging that standard fit equipment includes a pair of oars....

Schwimmwagens look cool and they're a bit silly. You need more reasons?

Looks great to me Tim- don't know what the driver has to be worried about....

Cheers,

He's found out it was me who built the kit!

Now you need a Trippel, Tim.
