1940 Red army - part 1

These comrades are from at least one of the Engineer Basevich sets of 1/32 soft plastic figures.  Most have the SSH-36 helmet with the flared sides.  The prone Maxim gunner is a delight, though a fair bit of hot water and bending was required to make him lie down properly.
I'll try to take more photos when varnish has been applied.

Very nice ... and a great addition to your growing Soviet army.

All the best,

Bob

Nice looking squad/ company. I dunno about that guy kneeling behind the machine gunner, though. That is a VERY sus expression on his phizz, I'm bound to say. And here's me thinking this was a family show...

Thanks - and given that the SSH-36 was supplied to the Spanish Republic, you may be seeing some of these chaps quite soon!

It's about half a battalion - and I see what you mean about the dodgy comrade. Sorry if it's offended your delicate sensibilities!

They look great! And that maxim figure has had me scouring ebay and toy soldier sites to no avail. If you happen to recall which set it comes with, I would love to know. Thanks!

Sorry - the Maxim was from an unboxed part set picked up at a show (by the notorious Bertrand).

If they survive Nomonhan, yes!
