I finally remembered to take some photos of the finished Corsair. The yellow and black 'Suez stripes' are a bit ropey close up, as indeed are the hand painted tail stripes but the overall effect is quite striking. Now I'd better write to game it's intended for....

Nice. I always prefer to see hanpainted rather than transfers.
looks pretty good, always found this to be an interesting campaign.
Looks good to me time- is Little Cold Wars going back to the '50s?
Cheers,
Pete.
Looks great!
How do you do your flight stands? I use 1/48 scale aircraft in support of my 54mm ww2 armies and am looking for new basing ideas.
Thanks for any input.

I'd have probably made even more of a hash of transfers!

I'd better get on with the game planning then!

Sure is - we can't stay in the '70s all the time you know!

The stand in question is made from a wire clothes hanger and is used for 1/72 models over tabletop games. I use other stands fro floor and lawn games. Would you like me to do a future post about my aircraft stands?
Flight stands I use brass rod fitted in a hole drilled in 25mm mdf round bases. Because that's too light I then glue it on a 2p. - example here https://easterngarrison.blogspot.com/2018/09/sukhoi-su2.html
Of course 1/48th bit bigger, but could use bigger mdf bases!
Thanks everyone for the ideas
A post on stands would be terrific. I hope it won't be much trouble
Thanks again

No trouble, though it won’t happen for a while. Can’t guarantee it’ll be much help though!
