The arms race that is Little Cold Wars continues. As I intend building a West German (remember them?) force and I didn't want the infantry to be walking everywhere, you may imagine that I was pleased to discover the availability of this 1/48 scale kit of a Marder IFV. Pleased that was, until I started to build one. This is a Kitech motorised kit and it is a horror. Some of the parts go together nicely. But only some. The rest, including the hull top and rear plate needed a lot of wedging in place while the glue dried. And then there were the wheels - lots of them. All of the road wheels needed to be drilled out in order to fit on the stub axles while the sprockets and idlers required the intervention of a hammer to fit onto their steel rod axles.

I seem to remember a wise soul mentioning Kitech in a less than happy experience.
They look the job at any rate. Nice one.

I don't think I could trust myself near such a kit with a hammer, your forbearance does you proud sir!
