This was the follow-on from the 'Drive on Scheissenburg' game we played a couple of weeks ago. The defending French had a couple of understrength infantry companies, with AT, mortar and tank platoons. They were again commanded by Martin, aided by Tim and Bill. The Forbodian Peoples' Army fielded a Motor Rifle Battalion (in their shiny new BMPs), reinforced with a company of T-55. John commanded, aided by Pete and Jerry - the latter as the Political Officer.
As is well known, one of the advantages enjoyed by the Warsaw Pact forces is standardisation of equipment. This is demonstrated in the above photo - by complete coincidence Jerry, John and Pete had all brought the same type of tape measure!
The Comrades wisely opted for a dismounted attack. One of the supporting T-55s soon fell victim to a skulking AMX-13. In LCW, AFVs can take two hits - the first marked with a ring of no confidence, the second by a huge pall of smoke!
The Forbodian steam-roller trundles on. The cheeky AMX-13 can be seen in the field bottom left.
As the riflemen reach town a BMP launches a Malyutka/Sagger.
The AMX-13 clears off under the scanty cover of some (mortar) smoke. Will it make it to safety?
That'll be a no then.
Things are starting to look a bit sticky for the Frenchies...
...as the Forbodians swarm into town. But some of the French infantry is still in place.
Part 2 of this game coming soon. Place your bets now on the outcome!

This is more exciting than the World Cup!
Are any of the military personnel allowed to bite members of the opposing team Tim?

Thanks - just a little something I threw together.

It is indeed part of the official language of Little Cold Wars!

It's much better than the World Cup. Only the dog is allowed to bite, as one unfortunate Britains Guardsman can testify....
Great fun- matching tape measures are clearly a necessity for future games.
Cheers,
Pete.
Great looking game.

Glad you liked the game - we'll do another next month.

It looks even better on a lawn! Hopefully we'll get a lawn game in next weekend.
