Interestingly, when I showed this to some of the chaps at the Sheffield Club they were rather less concerned with "why have an air defence system in your garden" and the conversation moved quickly on to what the most suitable system would be! Leading the field so far is a Bren on an AA tripod. Worrying really, isn't it?

The bren is a good choice but really you want a Quad .50cal on an M16 Halftrack. That way you can deal with interloping Huns and then pop down the shops after.

An interesting suggestion - but sadly a bit of a squeeze in my driveway.
Oh that's not a problem. Use the guns to create space and the tracks to level the rubble. Easy :-)

After hearing automatic small arms fire, my neighbours nervously peeked over the garden fence. They both looked rather puzzled as they witnessed me teaching my 84 year old mother how to aim and fire an MP40. ( airsoft version ). . . . . . . . . Good Morning. Turned out nice again. ☺

I am always keen on mounting a Phalanx CIWS on the back deck.
Not really a AA weapon so to speck, but if it can take out a missile surely a Cessna 172 cannot be too much of a ask.

BYW, the Rapier has a certain Wile E Coyote look when paired with your suggested (i.e. vs birds). Was there a large packing crate labelled ACME nearby?

So far, Uncle Bob (Cordery) has had the closest claim to a real Rapier in his back garden. I expect that now the Olympics is over, the Army have taken it back to their own toybox :O)
For amusement value, I would like a tethered barrage baloon and a basket that can be winched up and down. I haven't cleared it with Suzanne yet though.
