The game at Shrivenham is now less than a month away (9 June), so I need to be firming up a list of players.
The game will be an operational-level WW2 Eastern Front affair using 20mm toys. The game will commence at 1000 and finish at 1600 and be followed by a tour of the Defence Capability Centre.
If you do intend coming to the game, please email me at DELETED Even if you have already emailed me, please do so again. Your email should include the following details:
Name
Mobile telephone numberPreferred role in the game – Choose from the following and I’ll see what I can do:
1. German Division
2. German Corps
3. Other Axis
4. Soviet Corps
5. Soviet Army
6. Higher level command – either side
7. Umpire Team
8. No Preference
Your knowledge of the WW2 period on a scale of 1 to 5, where 1 = WW what? And 5 = I was there, man!
Your email will be taken as your consent to have your information stored on my (encrypted) PC and circulated as required to the game organisers and other players.
As Shrivenham is a military facility you will have to sign in at the gatehouse and provide photo ID. Even then, you will only be allowed in if your name is on the list of pre-booked players.
The cost of attending the game will be £10. This covers the game admin, a donation to the Shrivenham Wargames Club which is ‘hosting’ the event, a buffet lunch and tea and coffee.
Very limited basic accommodation (bring a towel!) is available the night before at a cost of around £22 – to arrange this please email Tom DELETED
