Japanese Infantry

As I have mentioned in earlier posts, while sorting out a few Japanese officers to accompany the Kurogane field cars, I ended up painting enough figures for another infantry division.  These lads are all metal figures and are from a number of manufacturers - but I'm not sure which.  There are 22 figures in all - 1 HQ stand, 1 engineer battalion and nine infantry battalions.  I have included photos of a few of the stands below.
HQ stand (left) and the engineers.  The HQ orderly looks bemused while his boss waves his sword around excitedly.
A pair of infantry battalions - represented here by MMG and LMG teams.  I think there may be FAA figures.   Interestingly (well I thought so) the gunners have their caps on backwards.  Early gangsta rappers perhaps?
Two more inf btls.  The figures on the right stand are particularly nice castings, although one appears to have forgotten his shirt.
Coming soon - Jap artillery.

Good investment in metals Tim

:)

Nice to see that you are giving the Jap formations the same TLC

Often they seem to get second best from wargamers

I gather it is rather warm in the jungle, but I suspect the chap with no shirt is shivering in the wind and rain we have here today.

So you want to shoot them too?

The best bit is that pretty well all these figures were bought cheaply at shows a few years ago. It's worth taking a bit of trouble over Japs 'cos they'll never appear in vast numbers like my Russians do.

Thanks - I wish I could tell you the makers of the figures. Plenty more to follow.

The figures are a mixture of FAA and S&A. See here:
