Romanian infantry WW2
To accompany my mountain troops I painted some line infantry. These figures are Classic Toy Soldiers plastics. CTS sell the same figures listed as Italians and Romanians, though the helmets are very definitely Italian in shape. So my dilemma was - do I just paint them or alter the shape of the helmets? Predictably I opted for the easy option!
The complete figures. Enough for a weak battalion in our Sevastopol 1942 game.

Have you thought about using British Zulu War troops for your Romanians? The service helmet looks similar to the Romanian steel helmet, and the troops are wearing boots and gaiters. You might even be able to use the British Zulu War cavalry as the basis for Romanian cavalry.

I did consider adapting Brits as you suggest but it all seemed rather hard work! If, however, I subsequently need Romanian cavalry I’ll revisit the idea.

Quite right - and this way they are adaptable as other nationalities. Even Italians.....
