In the greatest moment of the game, the Forbodian gunners scored a direct hit on one of Martin's limbers which spectacularly blew up... |

...and was sufficiently close to the other limber that it went up too, killing all but one of the gunners! Hurrah! |

As King Boris watches from a hilltop, his cavalry repulse their opposite numbers who had been getting dangerously close to the gun battery. At this point, with a weak right, a stalemated left and no guns or cavalry, the pointy helmets decided it was time to head home, leaving the victorious Forbodians in possession of the field. A great first 'proper' FLW game, this took about two hours from setting up to being packed away. |

It looks like an excellent game. I especially liked the view of King Boris in his car.
As for cavalry charges you might find a game outside gives an opportunity for a flank or rear charge where the outcome could be more on the side of the cavalry.
I look forward to more battle reports.

Dear Tim,
You set up, ran, enjoyed, and reported a "Funny Little Wars" game just about perfectly--by atmosphere and fun as well.
I've had the same "problem" with my own limbers three times now, and once not only did the battery achieve escape velocity, but it took 19 of 20 Guard Infantry at the same time. It rained bearskins for two days, two nights, and 14 hours on Sunday.
In the Spring, I hope you can finally move out to the yard, and then you can truly put your collective cavalry to their proper use!
Please do this again soon, and report as well for the rest of us.

Thanks Patrick - I'm glad the reports managed to convey the fun we had. They'll be no outdoor games in my garden as aside from it being quite small, there is the issue of the chickens of mass destruction! I'm sure there will be more table games though, and possibly indoor 'floor games' too. I refer you to the posts on the Fletcher Pratt game. I'm sure HGW would approve!
