Horrible Hawk

Lowering the tone of my Little Cold Wars forces still further is this tracked HAWK launcher. The basic Matchbox diecast was picked up - minus its long departed missiles - for £1 last year.  A rummage in the spares box yielded three big missiles from (I think) the Airfix Tornado kit.  After painting on the obligatory red warheads they were drilled and glued into place.
And yes, I know the whole ensemble should be painted olive drab or camo but I rather like it as is.

Looks Good Tim! Great re-purposing of the missiles and a cheap tracked launcher. Just need some of those big Soviet buckets of sunshine to oppose it!

Great looking bus Tom! I confess that I am disappointed that the missiles don't fire. What LCW mechanism will be used to represent the results of missile fire?
Cheers, PD

You mean the Frogfoot and the Beagle in the unbuilt kit pile?

No pleasing some people - I blame the early playtesters...
AA fire is resolved rather like AT fire by dropping a dart in a target. To simulate ECM the owner of the aircraft can distract the AA gunner by telling jokes.

I like it! I have been wondering when this diecast was going to make a appearance.

Nice rebodge.

Fear not. Since completing this I have found another in even worse shape!

Those white and red rockets - showing the instruments. You gotta let the enemy know what's coming to them!

Easy M548 bodge!

Exactly! Where's the deterrent effect if you can't see the thing?

Or a Chaparral?

Very nice! I'm a big fan of Battle Kings and it's always good to see them refurbished!
