Absolute Zero

Having cracked open this kit on the 4th of October, I had intended to have it finished by the end of that month.  I did - with three hours to spare!  This is the re-tooled Airfix Zero and it goes together rather well.  When it came to painting, rather then trying anything fancy I opted for a plain green over white finish which I think looks quite striking.  The decals are those supplied with the kit.

Sadly I didn't get round to dealing with the pair of 1/285 scale Zeros I have waiting, but their time will come!

Very nice Tim. I like the 'clean' look - fresh from the bakery, so to speak.

Thanks. I thought long and hard about 'weathering' but in the end I couldn't be bothered!

Well executed Tim (I knew you could do it!)

It looks sparkling clean, so the groundies must really love it as well!

Impressed about the canopy also.

Nice one.

Very smart Tim. I lke the green finish, it reminds me of some of the later war missions in 'Pacific Air War'.

Thanks - the canopy looks OK from a foot away - but don't go any closer!

I felt it looked good 'clean' so couldn't bring myself to weather it!

You mean it looks so much like a Zero that it doesn't look like a Zero? No pleasing some people.....

Thanks - hopefully the neat finish will make up for the hash I made of its predecessor!
