A recent visit to the attic for some now-forgotten domestic purpose led, inevitably to mission creep. I emerged cold but happy bearing the loot you see before you.
Above is (yet another) Coastal Defence fort. I really need another. I do.
Then we have the subject of my quest - a Gun Emplacement. Although I didn't think I had such a thing, I had vague recollections of buying one and became suspicious when I noticed that I had the box for it. The result of the investigation is happily fully intact and ready to be assailed by some paint.
Finally there is this little gem. I've not checked it fully for completeness but first impressions are pretty good. What's that Paul? You'd be jealous if most of the figures were still on the sprue? I'll not mention it then....

I knew you had to have one somewhere...)

The costal defence set .memories of my youth and early gaming using wrg infantry combat rules, without the figures being on the odd shaped bases and duplicating each prone.
Next you'll unearth one of those big Bellona 2ft square vacum formed terrain thingies...
best wishes
Alan
Blimey! Book me a tour of this attic please Tim, I will start compiling my list this instance.
Jammy mate, jammy.
I regret never actually buying any of these things. It wasn't as if they weren't available, time was...
What a great find, unfortunately nothing like that lying around my place anymore!
Ah, the good old gun emplacement. Fought over many times with Charles Grants 'Battle'.
The removable pillbox and radio hut thing were also handy terrain additions.

It did seem odd to be without such a thing!

I did have one of those Bellona trench systems but it's long, long gone. As I recall it was mainly fought over by 1/32 Germans and Paras.

You'd be most welcome - but I have now extracted all of the toys and relocated them to the rather more sympathetic enviroment of the games room.

They were all available a few years ago - I expect they will be again in time.

It was certainly a nice surprise!

Sadly the pillbox and hut are firmly glued into place! I remember drilling out firing slits in such a pillbox many years ago. I wonder what happened to it.
Glued into place?
How are you going to get the figures inside??
Martin Rapier
I know, I know - but I didn't do it! I did try to prise them free but it was never going to end well, so I gave it up.
I well remember being rendered unconscious with excitement when I got my first Coastal Defence set. When I came to it was still there and we had many a happy game together.

I was pretty excited at finding this stuff but managed to remain conscious though out the experience!
Weird, my gun emplacement was dark green - didn't have to paint it.
Mark Hodgson
They were green in the 1970s - I believe mine is a rather later version.
