Krisis at Kharkov - part 8 - Faces of battle

The best of the remaining photos from Kharkov now, including the Soviet commander's situation map.  Nothing has been heard of Gen Wallmanski since the battle, leading observers to believe that he accepted his Commissar's 'invitation' to join the Southwestern Front combined clog dancing and mine clearing team...

General Wallmanski's situation map.  All clear?  Good.

The Soviet award stars system is believed to be similary to that used by McDonalds....
Don't worry, the Sovs aren't going soft - the medics are only there for the horses!  Photo by Tom Mouat

Gen Wallmanski.....newest member of the glorious soviet penal battalion....) Oh well at least the list is long and distinguished.

Really great game that you hosted Tim, you should be justly proud!

Well don't show her any of these photos - they won't help convince her!

Thanks - this game was very much as Megablitz was intended to be played.

Have the Germans started writing their memoirs yet?

I think they're all waiting for postwar US Army sponsorship...

Very interesting to read along - sometimes a bit intimidating for someone like me who has yet to play his first war game (as it looks very complex at times). But I really admire the level of detail and organisation that has gone into this.

It's not at all complex - many of the players had no previous exposure to Megablitz but after the first couple of turns everyone had picked it up. As for the 'organisation' of which you speak - I had hoped to do a lot more! Please don't be put off - I normally play games which fit on a 5x3 foot table and last under two hours!
