Hot on the heels (well, OK - not that hot...) of my HMS Courageless build comes another bodge conversion. Again, this is based on the Airfix HMS Hood kit with the hull similarly shortened, albeit by a bit less than the earlier model. As the name suggests, this bodge is based on HMS Repulse which, if I take off my glasses and squint at my copy of Conway from the other end of the wargames room, looks a bit like a truncated 3-turret Hood. Sort of.

Thanks. I've deliberately chosen non-historical(!) names so I can't be pulled on inaccuracies.
I'm just thinking that crewing her might be a little tough - HMS Repulsive not being the sexiest draw. I suppose that the big problem is that the Royal Navy took all the good adjectives for ship names already.

Looks good and it is really inspiring me to bite the bullet and buy some of the sets. Great idea to chop a Hood into a Repulse but beware the curse of the rivet counter! At least the new names will disguise them somewhat!
I have a Revell KGV and a Gneisenau waiting for some attention so I really should do something about this!
Any thoughts on the navy for Forbodia?

You know you want to! No thoughts about the Forbodian Navy as yet - that country being set in an earlier, more innocent, pre-Dreadnought era. I actually complete the build and took the photos some weeks ago, so it's a lot less impressive then you might think!
