Tiny Type 97

There are 1/285 scale GHQ castings of the later 'Shinhoto' version of the Type 97 medium tank.  Rather than the stubby 57mm gun of the opriginal, this had a longer 47mm gun which was easily capable of punching a hole in a dry paper bag.

(Very) light artillery

To assist my 6mm Japanese in their quest for world (or at least regional) domination, I have provided them with these mighty artillery units. The 75mm Infantry Guns may not be the most feared weapons but these chaps look as if they know what they're doing. The larger gun being towed (by another GHQ Isuzu lorry) is a Heroics & Ros model of a Polish 75mm gun. Don't tell the Japs.

This rather larger gun is a Scotia model - I found it at the bottom of a box of stuff so it's origins are shrouded in mystery!  Whatever it was intended to be, it certainly looks the part and my Japs are very pleased to have it.

Extending the Atlantikwall

Regular readers may recall me mentioning that I was rebuilding one of these for a game.  The more observant among you will have spotted no fewer than three of them in use during the Guns of Toblerone game.  So here they all are.
Above is one I've had for a while but only recently painted, while below is the more battle-weary example I restored - complete with different calibre guns etc.  Incidentally, this is a good time to mention those less fortunate - it recently came to my notice that even the usually well equipped Don M doesn't have one of these forts.  Yet.

All of these have been spray painted - in up to four colours - with each successive colour applied while the earlier paint was still wet.

Above is my oldest example - painted about 10 years ago.  At the time I needed a second fort for a game so the monstrosity below was lovingly hand carved from a block of insulation foam.  The 20mm Kubel is there for scale.  And to raise the tone of things a bit.

Another Christmas treat

On Christmas day we were joined by my wife's cousin Bess, her two children and partner, Stuart.  When culinary activity reached a critical point Stuart and I were sent off to the toy room to keep us out of the way.  While not a gamer (yet), he took great delight in examining various toys - including the airsoft guns.  Bess appeared with cups of tea and was prevailed upon to pose with my PPSH and her choice of silly hat. 
I think the fez goes particularly well with the flamenco style apron she was wearing at the time...
