Tank Memorial

Near the Guynemer monument is this nice little memorial to the Tank Corps.
It includes this off cut from a British tank....
...and this 2-foot long model.  Apparently there used to be a real tank here for a few years after The Great War.

Its from one of the side sponsons off a Mark IV, but here is the clever bit. I think it is off one of the traveling sponsons that they used when transporting them. See https://www.awm.gov.au/exhibitions/advancing/MarkIV/. I therefore claim my prize of sad son of a beagle for the week.

Your prize is to spend a day making tank engine noises while walking about. I look forward to your wife's feedback on this....
