In the highlands of Belize I met an Irish Forester, who after I had carefully explained the subtleties of using Detcord and a metre of Fuse Instantaneous, for the safe dislodging of tree logjams, told me that they "Just cut a foot off and from a safe distance watched one of the boys* light it, who would "run like hell""
The expression of Sapper McBarrow reminds me of him.

Fine looking chaps - no laughter here.
I'm not sure I'd want to laugh at the burley chap with a sledge but I'm sure the pretty riflemen are a welcome escort.

I shall try to find them some work in a forthcoming game...

'Never laugh at a big bloke with a sledgehammer.' A good rule!
Have they all served a recognised apprenticeship and do they have their JIB and CIS cards? If not, then they really shouldn't be in the workplace.
Engineer figures are cool, I wish we could get more of them, especially in 1/72 scale
Wonderful stuff. Sturdy fellows one and all!
I am in awe of their magnificent moustachios! Neat stuff.
Cheers

The riflemen don't even have their bayonets fixed - how safe is that?

There seems to be a surprising amount of weird stuff available in 20mm these days - I'm trying not to buy any as I already have so much!

Bridges built, stuff blown up. Distance no object...

They've not had much work on recently so facial hair growing is their core activity!
The rifle chaps look very grand, but as mentioned above, I am sure the engineers can look after themselves.
They are obviously hard men as they aren't wearing jackets.

Are they from Newcastle?

The coat of varnish keeps 'em cosy!

Not judging by their accents!

'Sapper McBarrow'? I like it!
Phil
They sure are - and all I had to do was a bit of minor repair work!
