Greek Peltasts

Well Minifigs Peltasts actually.  Relatively new (late 1970s?) figures from the period when Minifigs obligingly stamped the model code (PB10 in this case) onto the figure base.  Having stocked up on paint last weekend (Vallejo from Wargames Emporium), I set about them over the course of a few brief painting sessions last week.  I had the odd total of 19 of these chaps and divided them between three stands.
A basic paint job, but quite effective.  To my eyes anyway.
The early stage of painting.  The newly reinforced ranks of Vallejo paints can be seen massing at the rear of the table.

Good work

Nothing like a bit of mid-week painting
Pity mine was Brilliant White Non-Drip Gloss ;)

Looking good.

These guys made up one of my favorite units when I was in college, my Royal Foot Guard. 1 of the units that went astray when I left alas. But spear and javelin peltast types have been prominent in many armies since.

Hi Tim,

That is a seriously organised painting tray Mr. Gow! Do you paint by remote control perchance? If so, I need to by myself one of those magic boxes!;-)

All the best,

DC

Definitely weekend painting - my posts tend to run several days (or weeks!) behind real time. I take it your gloss painting was on a 1:1 scale domestic terrain?

It felt odd to be painting 'new'figures which are, nevertheless, 30-odd years old!

I did have a tidy-up specially for the photo - and one of my jobs at the weekend was sorting out the paint stowage. I could do a post about that if anyone's interested...
Painting by remote control. I wish.
