The latest escapee from the now notorious Partizan Plane Purchase Pile is this rather nice F-4. It was in good shape and aside from some minor repairs all I've done is slap on a top coat of varnish. I particularly like the USAF Vietnam-era 3-colour camouflage - I'm just glad I didn't have to paint it myself!
I'm not sure what make the kit is - moulded in white plastic so Airfix or Revell perhaps?

I enjoyed reading about the "Partisan Plane Purchase Pile!" 105 planes is very impressive indeed! The USAF F-4 Phantom is a great model, thank you for sharing it Tim!
Love the Vietnam USAF camo scheme and the Phantom is a old favourite of mine. They used to fly out of Leuchars in Scotland, just across the Tay River from Dundee when I grew up!
Very handsome.
Cheers,
Pete.

It always feels better to confess!

I well remember the 'new' Phantoms at Leuchars replacing Lightnings!
Pete
Me or the 'plane?
Awwww, the day they replaced the Lightnings!:( ...I wouldn't care so much - the Phantom was a great aircraft BUT they weren't even NEW Phantoms, they were the old Royal Navy Phantoms they had left over from when they decommissioned the old Ark Royal!!! They repainted them in RAF colour BUT they still had arrestor hooks on them! LOL

Years later I knew a guy who'd worked on those Phantoms at Leuchars - apparently their serviceability rate was very good.
Cool Camo!
Geordie
Phantoms seem to look great in any colour scheme.
