Hot off the painting table is this regiment of Great War French infantry. These are Armies in Plastic figures - all as they came out of the box save for the light conversion of an officer figure to produce a standard bearer.
The 'blue horizon' is in fact Dulux matt emulsion with, as usual a final coat of Ronseal outdoor varnish to finish things off.
Painting these chaps made a nice change from green Russians!
They look very fine for men not wearing red trousers.
ReplyDeleteVery nice! I did mine in Colonial/WWII khaki and regretted it.
ReplyDeleteLook what you've gone and done! So good do your Russians and French look, I'm wondering whether a similar scheme would 'go' on my Army Men Omez Auxiliaries.
ReplyDeleteI like the colours, but I'm thinking I like them better with the high gloss finish. Jiggered if I know why...
Écoutez attentivement. Je ne dirai qu'une seule fois. Nice :-)
ReplyDeleteI hope that they do everything it says on the tin, sorry orders.More great work Tim.

ReplyDeleteJustifying pantalons rouge would involve a lot of head swops!

ReplyDeleteI may yet do a unit in khaki - as worn by FFL and colonial troops.

ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about the high gloss. It's so wrong - but somehow so right!

ReplyDeleteMore to the point: Vous avez une licence pour ce singe?

ReplyDeleteEverything it said on the paint tin at any rate!
G'day Tim. Can I ask what the actual Dulux colour was? You have captured the "horizon bleu" perfectly. (to my mind!)
ReplyDeleteCol
ReplyDeleteI don't have it to hand right now, but I'm planning a post on Dulux paints soon!
