Girls with guns!

Yes, I thought that would get your attention. You naughty lot!  These are 54mm Basevich figures which I think were bought at the Plastic Warrior show in 2019.  All these er, ladies serve in the Soviet Army.  They are lovely figures which I have finished in my usual ‘toy soldier’ style.  I couldn’t resist naming all four. Which is your favourite?  I’m voting for Tatania.

Galina the grenadier
Svetlana the sniper
Tatania the traffic controller
Marta the machine gunner

  1. Looks like you're setting up for a scenario based on "The Dawns Here are Quiet"! (he says hopefully). That's something I've been considering doing since I saw the mini series (never saw the original film though) but figures seem few and hard to come by.

Never come across that film. As well as this lot there are Russian WW2 ladies in several 1/35 hard plastic sets by ICM and no doubt others.

  3. I'm partial to Galina the Grenadier personally , ...though a slip of that cheap Chinese brush has rendered her with one eye looking at me, and one eye looking for me
(I jest - good paint job)

  4. I have to give my vote to Marta, she really knows how to handle that machine gun! Very nice group Tim, I haven't seen these ladies before.

  5. I would have thought Tatiana (Tanya, for short), but they are your names! I daresay they are a formidable quartet. Yeah, I think I'd go with Brad - Marta does look the business with that SMG.

  6. Well the title worked on me didnt it?! Coincidentally, I very recently watched "The Dawns are Quiet Here" on You Tube with English subtitles - I hope these girls have more luck than the ones the Sgt took off into the woods to hunt down German Fallschrimjagers!
