Hot off the production line is this battalion of Cold War Warpact infantry. These are mostly the 1970s Airfix 'Modern' Russians with some Esci figures and a couple from a cheap Chinese set of WW2 Sovs.
As their first outing will be as 1973 Syrians it is fitting that they are photographed on my sun-scorched and desert-like lawn.
I bought several sets of these Airfix figures. I'm surprised they seem to have a bad rep. While the number of poses is bad, the figures can be used for different armies, such as your Syrians.
ReplyDeleteWhat will they be using for transport?

ReplyDeleteI think they’re nice figures. Much better than the dreadful US ‘moderns’ companion set. And as you say, very versatile!

ReplyDeleteDepending on their luck, either BMP, BTR-60, BTR-152 or Shank’s Pony......
Those look great Tim.
ReplyDeleteCheers,

Never seen 'bad boys' looking so good!

ReplyDeleteGreatly helped by your own contributions!

ReplyDeleteThey look ok for a rush job.
There's something reassuring and just right about the officer with a red topped clip board, that should please the political education comrade!
ReplyDeleteKeep this up, Tim, and I might be forced by your example to go down the same track with my own Army men stuff. Very tempting notion, your set up looks so good.
