In preparation for the Gnuston Heights game next month my rather nice Skyhawk has been joined by another. I'm not sure what make the original is - Fujimi perhaps - but this new model is the venerable and rather basic Airfix kit. Whatever it's shortcomings though, it goes together well - not bad for a kit originally released in 1958!
Sometimes you have to just take in the fact that you are making a kit which is (in moulding) older than yourself! ...I made the old Airfix Sherman a while back and for all it's faults I'll be sad when Airfix finally get around to updating it.
ReplyDeleteIf you want to really enjoy a simple old kit watch the Leslie Howard movie 'SPITFIRE' then built the Airfix Supermarine S6B
ReplyDeleteOnward Israel!

ReplyDeleteOld but still largely functional - and then there's the kit!

ReplyDeleteThat sounds like a great afternoon! (The S6B kit dates from 1957 by the way)

Cheers,
