MiG-17 part 3

I managed to get the Fresco finished during the week and celebrated yesterday's nice weather by taking photos outside.  In a crazy twist I went for Romanian markings - one of several Warpact sets which came with the kit.
I have more aircraft coming soon - but not a wing in sight.  Start practicing your 'wokka wokka wokka' noises now....

  2. Always thought wings were greatly over rated.

  4. Whenever I see those fins on the wings I'm reminded of what the old NATO pilots
used to say, "they are there so the air wont defect across the wings"...Nice work Tim...)

  5. I always think of it as more of a "Thup, Thup, Thup, Thup."

  6. Lovely job. What's the difference between a Mig 15 and 17 please? (Don't say 'two')

It's that sort of attitude that brought us the F-104 Starfighter...

The green paint makes it look surprisingly 'different.'

    There goes my best line...
Basically the '17 is a more developed '15 - a wee bit bigger and more powerful. And of course it has a much less embarassing NATO codename. Many pilots would feel it's better to fly with a Fresco than a Fagot...

  14. Starfighter was one of my favourites. Looks lethal. Course, I've never flown in one...
