The generosity of others - part 2

Last Wednesday's second gift followed close upon the heels of the first.  SWS member Tim Walker approached me saying something along the lines of  "I see from your blog that you like building crap kits.  So you'd better have this one..."
The (still shrinkwrapped) item in question was this A-4 Shyhawk kit made by the previously unknown to me company of 'Starfix'.  I wonder where they got the idea for the name...
 A quick glance in the box indicates it to be a pretty basic affair but I'm sure I can make use of it.  Tim W tells me that he recalls picking it up in a shop in Cleethorpes many years and several house moves ago.  I must give some thought to which country's armed forces will be the lucky recipients of this device....

    I almost paid $5.00 for this kit last week. I then read a review which made me reconsider.

    Sounds like that would have been at least $4.95 too much. Going by the review (though they can be rather sniffy) it sounds a dreadful kit - now I'm really looking forward to trying to assemble it!

    My Andreivian Air Force has one of those Starfix A-4s. It's an easy kit to build but you might decide you want to blank off the engine intakes so you can't see so d
    far not the interior.

    Hi Tim,

    Paint it as a Kahu era ('90s) RNZAF A4K - basically an A4F with the cockpit and radar of an F-16!

    Or as a Royal Australian A4G with Kiwi roundels - we bought their Skyhawks when the sold the Melbourne. A few were flying around in their [rather fetching dual grey (or was it white and grey)] Australia colours when they got here.

    That would be tempting - but I already have plans to shoehorn the A4 into a game. If you chaps would go and invade somewhere I'd have more opportunity to use NZ forces....
